Imagine 8-up UV CTP
Conventional offset plates
Running costs for manufacturing plates are vastly reduced if conventional offset plates are used for digital imaging. This makes UV CTP remarkably economical with a fast ROI in a simplified, stable and long-term process. Conventional offset plates have been around for many years and their quality and stability have been proven many times over. Conventional offset plates are processed in economical, conventional plate-processors with cost-effective chemical consumption.
IMAGINE® UV8-up laser technology
The IMAGINE® UV8-up is available with either 32 or 48 channels. Utilising mature and reliable technology with 405 nm UV diode technology, the IMAGINE® series produces sharp and clear screen dots with conventional offset plates and high run lengths. The IMAGINE® can be operated in a safelight environment and current diode technology guarantees a durable, consistent imaging quality which results in a cost-effective device over a long period of time.
External drum design
The external drum uses bend-and-clamp technology from the printing press with excellent registration to minimise preparation time. The UV 32 channel produces 16 plates/hour and the UV 48 channel produces 22 plates/hour on the maximum image size.
IMAGINE® CtP
The compact IMAGINE® CtP is built using modules with only two servomotors for a laser recording head and drum, respectively. The minimum moving parts are pneumatically driven, which minimizes the wear and tear of these moving parts.
Temperature and humidity control
Various sensors measure the temperature and humidity in the machine between 15 and 26 °C with an accuracy of 0.1 °C and 10 to 70%
relative humidity, respectively.
Plate edge detection
Plate formats can be exchanged without any intervention from the operator with the automatic plate edge detection.
Automatic drum balance
The drum is automatically balanced within five seconds when another plate format and/or plate gauge is/are loaded
Automatic focus
With the dynamic and automatic focussing variation in offset, plate surfaces are adjusted in real time to ensure the distance between exposure dots and lens remain unchanged. Each laser spot is exposed at the best possible focal length to ensure clear and sharp screen dots.
Automatic light path switch
If a laser diode fails, automatic light path switch technology uses the maximum remaining channels automatically, which guarantees ongoing production.
Ceramic drum surface
The highly accurate external drum has a smooth ceramic surface, which guarantees a flawless loading and unloading of plates
Clamping
The accurate and reliable plate clamping system ensures an accuracy of up to a 50 micron register, which eliminate any make ready time on press.
Easy operation and connectivity
Existing workflows with 1-bit Tiff output can directly be interfaced to the IMAGINE® server, with an easy-to-operate 1-bit Tiff interface.
